Euro 2024 play-off tie goes to penalties after dramatic draw
Poland and Wales shared the spoils in a thrilling UEFA EURO 2024 qualifying play-off final in Warsaw, with the match ultimately decided on penalties.
Jonny Williams fired Wales ahead with a stunning outside-of-the-box strike in the 52nd minute, but Poland hit back through Robert Lewandowski just seven minutes later to level the scores.
Neither side could find a winner in the remaining 36 minutes of normal time or 30 minutes of extra-time, so the tie went to a penalty shoot-out.
Wales held their nerve to win 5-4 on penalties, with Aaron Ramsey scoring the winning spot-kick.
The result means Wales have reached the finals of UEFA EURO 2024, which will be held in Germany from 14 June to 14 July 2024.
Poland will now have to go through the play-offs to reach the finals.
